Title: Radio Amateur (Ham) Radio Operators’ Technician Licensing Course

 Date:  July 19-20, 2011

Where: SC DHEC/ EQC • 206 Beaufort Street • Aiken, SC 29801                           

Audience: This training is conducted by Kent Hufford, KQ4KK, Charlie Miller, AE4UX and Bill Dease, KI4PKO to support the Region 5 MRC Coordinator Ella Gardner, gardneer@dhec.sc.gov.  All participants will be asked to consider volunteering to support emergency response organizations (hospitals, shelters, healthcare facilities, and other health and medical ESF-8 agencies).

Credit: Participants who take this training are prepared to take the Technician Licensing Examination which will be offered on the second day of the training after lunch.

Cost: There is no cost for the training; however the licensing exam is $15 (cash or check) payable on the day of the exam.  Receipts are available upon request.

Materials: Each applicant will receive study material by e-mail upon registration.  All participants will receive “The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual for Level 1 Technician” on the first day of class at no cost.
